Abstract:
Texas’ electricity deregulation in 2002 converted a government-regulated monopoly into a market-based, competitive industry. Examine the unprecedented impact upon business, alternative energy, and Texas’ economy from the perspective of a local entrepreneur. By recognizing a need in the marketplace and meeting it, Waco-based Texas Energy Aggregation has grown from an idea to managing over $100 billion in energy contracts. Energy is rapidly becoming the currency of the future, and those pioneering this paradigm shift will preside over the greatest industrial growth of the next decade.
