Abstract:

The world of engineering, product development, technical sales and marketing is one of the fastest changing fields of our times. Advances in technology are delivering higher silicon integration, more advanced tools, and a wider range of product possibilities, at an ever quickening pace. At the same time, competition and consumer demand are driving lower cost targets, shorter product development cycles, and an intense focus on target market dynamics. As the world becomes increasingly ‘flat’, management is pressed to bring together engineering and manufacturing teams from across the globe, and to serve international markets. For an engineering graduate today entering a rapidly moving stream, this seminar is a chance to take a brief survey of various aspects of the high-tech field, consider the challenges, and discuss the opportunities for an exciting career.
