Carlton Metcalf-Doetsch - Undergraduate Honor's Research Assistant
Carlton Metcalf-Doetsch is studying various polymer characterization methods for  traditional industrial thermoplastics and for select aerospace thermosets. He is gaining experience using the various polymer characterization equipment within Sic'em and will be focusing his efforts on the visco-elastic and visco-plastic behavior of industrial polymers. The scope of his honor's work has been on characterizing the failure behavior of single carbon fibers using a custom fixture within the DMA as well as within the SEM.
