ADS is working in the computer labs now, but a special procedure will need to be followed each time you log into the computers:
To select the new license, start by going to Start Menu, All Programs, Advanced Design System 2004A, ADS Tools, License Preference Tool. On the left side under “Available License Bundles” y'’ll see ltp_intdesrfde_combo. Select it and click on “add” and it should appear on the right side under “Selected License Bundles”. Click “ok”, close all ADS windows (if any are opened), and restart ADS, it should work.

Agilent Dreamliner Visit - October 24, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., USF Research Park Parking Lot (across Alumni Drive from Engineering Building II)

For Quiz 5 (October 1), focus on S-parameters, ABCD parameters, and parameter conversions. There will be no problems related to the lecture on the different transmission line types.

Project 2 and the lecture slides for Transmission Line Types (9/26 lecture) have been posted. Please print them out and bring them to the 9/26 class.

The contact and office-hour information for the teaching assistant has been posted.

In problem 4.12, part (b) is worded incorrectly. Change the wording of Part (b) to read, "Show that to have unidirectional transmission (that is, S12 = 0 and S21 not equal to zero) that the network cannot be reciprocal.

ADS keys were mailed to all APEX students submitting key requests on 9/6. Please install and test the ADS software as soon as possible

. This course will require the use of Agilent Technologies Advanced Design System (ADS). APEX students requiring a software key should e-mail Dr. Baylis and explain the reason they need a key.
